Hotel Reef Oasis Blue Bay Resort Sharm Holiday Reviews

Hotel Reef Oasis Blue Bay Resort Sharm

I have just returned from 11 fantastic days at the Reef Oasis and it was superb!
Before I do my full review, a couple of points that I think I should add……The average Egyptian wage is £30.00/month so we found that by tipping the waiter/barman £1/£2 a night we got excellent service. No need to take Egyptian pounds as English & Euros are readily taken.
We arrived from Manchester and we had our temperature taken on arrival (for swine flu), after the usual immigration palava, we were shown to our coach and taken to the hotel – and we arrived there within 15 minutes. We checked in and we were taken to our room by golf buggy and our luggage followed 10 minutes later
The hotel was superb – I wasn’t happy with our allocated room so asked if we could be moved to a west facing room as I like to sit on the balcony on an evening – this was done for us with no complaint. The room was spacious and clean, with the free minibar stocked daily (it says on the bumph in the room that you pay for the minibar – don’t panic you don’t)
During the day we spent most of our time at the adult only relax pool, and we would take our snorkeling stuff down to the beach at lunchtime and have a dip after lunch. The snorkelling was fab – I treated my husband to an Olympus underwater digital camera from Amazon and got some amazing photos.
The food was excellent, we had breakfast in the main buffet restaurant and lunch in the beach restaurant (by far the best option at lunch) and we tried the main, Italian and Kebabgy (outdoor BBQ) restaurants and were all lovely. I am a VERY fussy eater and never struggled to find something suitable to eat.
For drinks in the evening we found the best bar to be the outdoor Caribbean Bar (go through the very dodgy smelling Carribean Cafe Bar and onto the terrace) the bar man Ibrahem was superb, and at 22 put us Brits to shame by speaking 5 languages including Russian! My husband says I always ask 20 questions, but to be honest I found listening to Ibrahem and the other staff about their cultures and beliefs fascinating.
It was my Birthday when I was over there and I had 2 beautiful cakes made for me (1 presented in the restaurant & 1 in the bar) and I was treated to a facial in the Spa. The treatment was fantastic, it was pricey, but you expect to pay that little bit extra in a hotel
With regards to the beach it is down a windy road, but it really is a 5 minute walk not a 5 mile walk as some other people have made it out to be – we walked everyday there and back and always beat the lazy people sitting at the bottom waiting for the shuttle bus!
All in all a superb holiday, weather fantastic, as was everything else – I can’t wait to go back!

Stayed at the Reef Oasis for a week at the end of April and everything was fantastic, I could not recommend it enough.
Location: Amazing, looking out over the seafront, a short ride from the airport and a short bus ride to Nama Bay.
Service: Every single member of staff was friendly, welcoming and attentive. Working hard night and day, nothing was too much.

Facilities: A large beach with plenty of sunbeds and a lovely terrace with jacuzzis and more sunbeds. An adult only pool, excellent idea, idilic and quiet. A kids pool with slides and entertainment, well set out so the noise is contained in the location. A sea view pool with infinity edge overlooking the bay. Amazing.

We booked a junior suite, room not that different from a deluxe room other than a bigger bathroom and walk in wardrobe. Balcony a bit small, given it were a suite, but not much time spent in room so forgivable. Breakfast in fish restaurant was beautiful (The buffet restaurant is chaos) and intimate and well worth the upgrade cost alone.

Thalasso spa is lovely, recommend a treatment (Suite users get a free massage).

Entertainment is dreadful and quite loud too but if you don’t like it don’t go, sit in the caribbean bar and have a drink looking out to sea instead.

We’re both EXTREMELY picky people and even we found it hard to find a fault so it must be good!

We’re definatly going back in October.
