Hotel Sea Life Resort Sharm Holiday Reviews

Hotel Sea Life Resort Sharm

We enjoyed our holiday in Sea Life resort, the hotel is clean and the staff are friendly. There is a certain amount of touting for hotel extras, eg., the beauty salon but never overbearing or unpleasant.
I am not a big food critic, I am happy if it is cooked well and there is plenty of choice, and I always found this to be the case.
The pool area is busy but never seemed crowded, no probs getting a sunbed. The early towel brigade are everywhere, but have always seemed to be few in numbers, perhaps because there is no need.
The hotel is on the beach, it is very gravelly so take swim shoes with you, and you can go straight in to snorkel and be amazed at the other, ‘sea life,’ I felt that I had walked into an aquarium.
Fifteen minutes in a hotel taxi takes you in to Na’ama Bay which you must do – busy, bright and bustling – then decide if you like it, or love it. Visit Cairo if you can, it’s an assault on the senses, but fascinating;
Luxor is more peaceful, and like the old Egypt we have pictured in our minds from old movies. We enjoyed all our excursions, don’t miss one of the boat trips with snorkelling stops (through our tour operator Thomas Cook) it’s a great day out – fab lunch included.
Going back again in September and can’t wait !

Just got back from the Sea Life Resort with my partner, our 5th time in sharm but first visit to this resort. Hotel clean but rooms could do with updating. Staff very friendly and helpful. The wine ( local) is drinkable and the beer seems quite nice but imported alcohol is expensive so try to stick to the local brews. Food, well not the best we’ve had – could certainly do with some improvement. Evening entertainment quite awful but this is one of the things you expect in Egypt hotels. Will we return to Egypt again, yes but not to this hotel.

Partner and I both early 50’s, were looking for 2 weeks sun/relaxation at a reasonable price – Sea Life seemed to fit the bill.
One of our cases was lost on the journey from Sharm airport to Sea Life (one with all our clothes – so not a good start (not sea life’s fault but worth a mention) – check your bags are not taken off at the wrong complex!.
Also many thanks to the lovely lady and daughter who loaned my partner some of her clothes – as we had only what we stood in.
Food OK – you will not starve, fair amount of choices in restaurants, with pool bars serving burgers/hot dogs midday.
All water and local alcohol free + tea & coffee.
The local spirits, wine etc we could not drink – especially the wine – you can purchase named brands though.
We had the tummy bug twice – nearly had to cancel our Cairo trip -but with the aid of 21 GBP’s worth of Antenal and other drugs got over it fast – as I said got it twice so more money spent.
Resort seemed clean – apartments tired and dark.
We felt very restricted as there was no where to wonder off to – apart from the resort – we like our freedom and usually have villa holidays – so may not be fair to comment on.
We went to Nama Bay – but wished we hadn’t – constant pestering by the locals puts you off – same with the pyramids I am afraid.
Weather gorgeous, sea great and snorkelling and fishes seen wonderful.
All in all we would not go back even for a week – however glad we did it.

Hotel Oriental Resort Sharm Holiday Reviews

Hotel Oriental Resort Sharm

Just come back from 2 weeks @ Oriental Resort. Had a fab holiday – would return to this hotel. Staff v friendly and made the holiday really relaxed and enjoyable. Room was clean and comfortable – bathroom could do with a bit of updating but think this is just due to age of hotel (nothing bad tho). The gardens of the resort are lovely and well kept. The main pool is where the families tend to congregate and is the noisier pool. The pool nearer the beach is much quieter if you want to chill out. Great to be able to enter the sea from the beach or jetty (some hotels can only go in via jetty due to coral reef) – beach shoes def worth purchasing tho but are dead cheap. A welcoming breeze seems ever present as it is hot in Sharm! Beer and ouzo are just fine!!!! Food was nice with good variation and the Oriental Night was lovely – specialising in Egyptian cuisine.

Lots of people seem to comment about the Russians – and there are a lot of them here but, we didn’t encounter any problems with them like some have said.

Our air con did go wrong and we had a leak from a tap in our bathroom. We contacted reception and did have to chase them up for the air con (Egyptian time I think!) but it did get sorted quickly once the chap came to the room. The bathroom leak was sorted in about half an hour…so not bad really.

Everyone we spoke to did have a dodgy tummy while out there at some point (different hotels) but TBH we went expecting this and the tablets you can get from the pharmacy (just outside hotel) worked well with us. Imodium doesn’t really do it tho. We couldn’t put it down to any specific food we ate or drink we had so perhaps it’s touching the money or tap water when showering we don’t know.

Def recommend the desert buggies and speedboat trips from “Sam” (Saied from Aaron Waves – office on beach). Also did the Tiran Island snorkelling boat trip with Aqua Nabq (Mohammed Ali – office on beach) which was a nice day trip out. Went into Naama Bay for an afternoon and evening. Afternoon was v hot (no breeze) and town itself was quiet so shop owners were v keen to get you into their shops! The town came alive at night tho and shop owners were more chilled! Be prepared to be asked to look into their shops and barter away if there’s something you do want!

We also did a PADI scuba course with Camel Dive @ Laguna Vista (“Hi Phil”). If you love snorkelling, it’s well worth trying scuba out in Sharm as it is AMAZING!

Overall, v impressed for the money we paid and would def go back, esp if want fab weather!!!

From the moment you arrive at the Oriental Resort Hotel you are greeted with a warm smile and friendly staff. The atmosphere is relaxing and welcolming and nothing is too much trouble. The rooms are clean & spacious and enjoy lovely views of the immaculate gardens and sea beyond. The food and service is wonderful, and of a very high standard. I have stayed at this Hotel 6 times with my sisters and we always want to go back! As the motto says “you arrive as a guest and leave as a friend”

Have just spent 2 weeks at the Oriental this is my 5th visit what can I say well this is one of my favourite places.Have travelled to many parts of the world but this is what I call home when you return the staff treat you so well and cant do enough for you even down to reserving the same table through out your stay. when booking holiday the room was with a garden view but was upgraded to a sea view the room was very clean and spacious.sheets and towels changed daily dont even get that home.on the whole every member of staff at this hotel ensure the guest have an enjoyable stay nouthing is to much trouble. The walk through the gardens to the beach is like being at the chelsea flower show they are so well kept when you get to the beach you can walk into the sea unlike some hotels in sharm you have to use a jetty its very safe for children as the water is very shallow there is a jetty if you are a keen snorkler where the water gets deeper.Plenty of sunbeds and not packed like sardines i do like my space.Would like to say a special thank you to eddie murphy you will find him in the restraunt he really is agreat guy and so funny also ahmed and al hady they really look after you.Karim in the pit stop bar makes lovely cocktails.Have booked to go back september cant wait

Hotel Ocean Club Sharm Holiday Reviews

Hotel Ocean Club Sharm

Hi, I’ve just booked my return holiday back to Ocean Club and I thought I would read the reviews and I could not believe how negative some people can be. The Ocean Club is predominantly a diving hotel so I can understand if your not up for diving you may find it small however for the price you pay and what you get even if you don’t dive it’s a lovely hotel with two nice pools and you can lay down and relax in the beautiful sunshine all day, read a book eat an ice cream and enjoy the atmosphere.

I’m going back on 28th June and I can’t wait to get back. This is the first time i’ve ever gone back to a holiday twice and I would highly recommend it especially if your thinking of going diving for the first time or like me an experienced diver than wants a decent clean hotel with lots of social people…

Great Holiday – Good Location – Gorgeous People – Excellent Diving

Don’t moan about this holiday if you pay around £300 and expect more it’s excellent value for money..

I hope everyone enjoys it as much as I do..

This was my 3rd time back to sharm el sheihk and I decided to change from the original hotel that I stayed in for something new. When I arrived at Ocean Club the staff were extremely welcoming and friendly and we were shown to our room which was situated on the doorstep of the pool. The holiday was for my friends birthday and we couldnt have picked a better place. The rooms were great exceptionally clean with clean towels changed daily as well as the room. When it came to my friends birthday on the friday they even took it upon themselves to decorate our room and present her with an amazing birthday cake!! the pool was a little cool but we welcomed that from the intense heat all day. The area was spotless around the hotel and even had an onsite shop situated at the side of the hotel which was very cheap! the pool bar food was lovely and so was breakfast and evening meal. Regular bbqs were held and on other nights a buffet was supplied which catered for everyone. The staff couldnt do enough for us and were extremly pleasant and helpful. You could always get a taxi outside the hotel and only took 10 mins to get to namma bay. Also if you are a Diver this hotel has excellent facilities!! You hear mixed reports all the time about Egypt but once again i wasnt disappointed and I would definatley recommend this hotel to anyone. I was very sad to leave but will definatley be back

Having stayed here at Ocean Club a few times I was delighted to go again with my new partner – we had a great time and we are both already booked again – what great value under a guaranteed blue sky! The hotel, to be fair is a reliable 2-3 star but only in terms of the rooms, the rest is fabulous with great pools (3) great pool side facilties and no flies!!! The rooms are basic to be fair but on every occasion I have been there at Ocean Club – impeccably clean, well appointed but basic. The shower and loo are clean and always worked as expected – and the air con was perfect. Lets face it – who is going to Sharm to sit in their room? Cold shower and Air Con – just fine.

We had great week – again for me – and food at hotel was just fine. Those who did not try the Mongol banquet missed a bargain all very week cooked. I have stayed here 3 times now and NEVER had a tummy upset – the local beer was fine and good value – the staff at the hotel were very helpful and the room cleaners ‘origami’ wth the bedding has to be seen to be fully understood – amazing and so bizarre.

The roof top bar ws great fun and such a great vantage point in the evening – friendly staff most of the time and the food – even breakfast fully adequate to set you up for the day – even if a little predictable. Still good wholesome and decent coffee too – who could really want MUCH more?

The location is fine for the new traveller who wishes to go down to Naama Bay – a few pounds by taxi – good fun – and only a few minutes away from the night spots.

Not yet had a bad trip nor a bad stay at Ocean Club – budget or 2-3 star perhaps – but all you need in secure location – and NO flies!!!!

Hotel Novotel Sharm El Sheikh

First time in Egypt and chose Novotel Beach in Nama bay – Absolutely brilliant ! Centre of nama bay like Las Vegas, but this hotel just along a beach side promenade within walking distance so you have the restaurants / bars / shops etc if you want and can retreat to the Novotel for peace and quiet. Hotel not too big , lovely pool and its own beach, free beach towels etc. Rooms lovely and clean , beds very big and comfortable.
Staff just lovely, they genuinely seemed to enjoy thier work and interracting with the guests.
Breakfasts great, hotel food about the same price as UK for Pizza etcetc, but lots of cheaper restaurats very local.
Can walk into the sea off the beach at this hotel so great for kids – cant do this at every hotel because of the coral reefs. The snorkelling and fish are out of this world, like swimming in a big Aquarium or being in the film ‘Finding Nemo’ Honestly – it will take your breath away ! Hunderds of fish all sizes and colours to be seen easily from this hotel beach – better than the Tiran Island trips we did.
I was on holiday with my daughter so as 2 women we did get quite a lot of hassel from shopkeepers etc. But for a safe and polite reception You should go to the little Shop attached to the Novotel Beach hotel, Amir and Ahmed understand that the British dont all like haggling !, They were really very good , sell a little bit of everything and treated us with courtesy, giving a great price on stuff so we didnt feel ripped off. Buy your snorkels, masks and fins here and not in England, they were much cheaper and better quality.
We will definately be booking again to visit Sharm – and will go to the Novotel beach simply for its location, beach and corals and relaxed atmosphere. ( first time I would return to the same hotel ! )
Nama bay only 20 mins from the airport, flight just 5 hours from UK, time difference only 2 hours so all in all an easy journey – what more could you want – GO !!!

We stayed at the Novotel Beach part of the complex. It was a great hotel. Very clean with the most friendly, trustworthy and helpful staff. Great location on the beautiful beach promenade, 10 mins walk to centre of Naama Bay. Looking at the neighbouring hotels I would say the Novotel Beach looked the nicest. Didnt drink at the hotel bar though as it was very expensive – around £5 for a tin of local beer (although alcohol was pretty expensive everywhere in Sharm). Breakfast was lovely. I will definately go back to this hotel but would specify the Beach rather than the sister resort The Novotel Palms.

We stayed in the ‘ Beach side’. The rooms were probably the best we have had, large and clean. The bathroom was fairly small but had a large walk in shower which was really powerfull and always had plenty of hot water.
Breakfast was good all the usual things, eggs cooked to order etc. The breads and cakes were so tasty.
The pool was heated and never a problem getting sun beds, also plenty of sun shades if you wanted them. During the morning the entertainments team put on dancing classes and water aerobics which was good fun. The beach was also lovely and again no problems getting a bed.
The location of the hotel is great as you are near to the shops/ restaurants but far away enough from any noise etc.
The only downside of the hotel is the cost of drinks/food. It is so expensive! We didn’t eat or drink there. Generally Sharm has got very expensive to eat and drink. Wine is now £20 plus per bottle. We went diving with Onaas diving school who were very friendly and safe. Good for beginners and PADA divers. Quad bikes were fun , book at the tourst info and do a deal. Restaurant on beach was fun and reasonable (located at the end of prom towards casino) . Hilton next door to Novotel was good for lunch,
Jolie Hotel barbeque was very expensive, 350 egyption pounds each. Hard Rock was great fun, reasonably priced and good food. Pomodora was good, always busy which is always a good sign

Hotel Novotel Sharm El Sheikh Palm Holiday Reviews

Hotel Novotel Sharm El Sheikh Palm

Stayed at the Novotel Palm for two weeks. Could not fault one thing, absolutely loved it!!! We were a bit weary at first due to the reviews on here of people wanting the Novotel Beach hotel. We did originally want the Novotel Beach but the Palm side is so much better. the road could be a problem if you have prams or toddlers but we found it fine, men stand at each side to get you across safely.
Because it is a new hotel, everywhere is spotless. the rooms are the biggest rooms iv’e ever seen, the bedroom and bathroom is amazing! would defiantly look at staying at another novotel hotel after staying here. The pools, three to choose in this hotel, are massive, we did go to the pool over road but found it too full of small children splashing and running around.
Breakfast was excellent, the chef can make you pancakes, scrambled eggs, omelette’s and fried eggs. there was also yogurts, fruit, bacon, potatoes, tomatoes and fresh juice. The hotel was about 10 mins walk along the beach to the centre which we found perfect. would definatly return back to this hotel if were going to naama bay again.

We stayed at the Novotel Palm for a week which is in Naama Bay and about 15-20 mins walk to the centre of Naama Bay. We had a very big room, lovely super king bed and nice bathroom with walk-in shower. TV with satellite channels and a fridge was provided in the room. There was also a small couch which was great for chilling out instead of using the bed. Our room was very close to reception, about 1 minute walk. We were 20 seconds from the main pool which was lovely. The hotel has 3 pools. Two are located within close reach of each other. The other is a bit further away, but is also very nice. The hotel has numerous facilities including the usual spa and beauty treatmeants. They also have a tennis court, a skate boarding area and a kids area. Our room had two sun loungers outside which was nice as we could sunbathe right outside it at times.

We had to cross the road to have dinner at the restaurant at the Novotel Beach hotel and to go to the beach. This was not a problem at all as the hotel has guards that help you cross the road and they were always helpful and friendly. The Novotel Beach hotel seemed nice though a bit crowded and noisier than the Palm, but was very close to the beach. Novotel Beach has an ATM machine which also exchanges foreign currency. There is no internet facility but a short walk to the Marriot hotel next door does provide this.

The breakfast and dinner was very nice with a variety of food. The staff were very helpful and friendly everywhere in the hotel. We went on a tour to Cairo one day and forgot to leave the sign out to have our room cleaned. When we got back at around 11pm we assumed that we would not be able to have new towels, but the housekeeping and laundry is 24 hours service and we had some towels brought to us within 5 minutes.

Regarding tours, we shopped around in Naama Bay and booked them. We didn’t go with the tour operators that the hotel provided as we found that some of them were quite costly. Our tour guides were very good and explained everything in detail.

We would definitly reccommend this hotel and would stay there again if we go to Sharm in the future.

Regarding the hotel split either side of the busy road, most of the hotels along this stretch (including the Hilton and Marriot) are split across the road so it is not something specific to the Novatel. We were in the Palms, we liked the fact that it was really peacful and spacious, more like a collection of chalets that a hotel with lifts and corridors. If you were in the beach side you could have a room opening out onto the pool area (and have the pool aerobics or kids disco blasting itno your room), or one quite near the busy road. All the rooms on the plams side are well away from the road. If you have kids in tow then the walk might be a pain but for us it was no problem. Certainly much better that being in one of the htels that would require a taxi ride or shuttle bus to get into Naama Bay. Our room was about 5-10 minutes walk from the beach and 15 to 20 minutes from the center of Sharm. The walk to the center of Sharm is past all the sea front resturants so gives you the oppertunity to check them out.
The road crossing was OK with a man with a red stick who stood in front of the traffic to stop it so that you could go across, then on about the 3rd day of our stay they put in speed bumps. These slow the traffic down almost to a stop making the crossing patrol man pretty redundant (athough he gets a bit upset if you cross without him! probably as he will get told off for not helping you).
The beach is great for snorkelling with a reef starting at about 2ft depth about 20ft out. can’t really comment on lying around on the beach as we didn’t!

This was the nicest Hotel that I have stayed at. The main reson I wanted to write this review is because there seems to be a lot of people telling everyone that the Beach Hotel is much better, well we stayed at the Beach Hotel which was absolutly briliant, however we also went to the Palm Hotel a few times and this was also really really nice. Please don’t worry too much as to which one you stay in as you’ll have a lovely time either way. The main thing that I really need to mention above everything is the time factor it takes to walk from hotel to the other – 30 SECONDS!!! including crossing the road that people keep banging on about being really busy – It’s not at all, There are people there that help you cross anyway (like a lollypop man) But really please don’t be put off by this road as it takes about 5 seconds to cross. If you are more of a pool person then there are 3 pools at the Palm resort, and there is only 1 pool at the Beach resort. If you are a beach person then it will take you 20 seconds to walk to the beach from the hotel. Everthing else that I wanted to mention is more or less the same as what other people have said – that I would definately highly recomend this hotel. Have a great time if your going!!!
