Dambulla Polonnaruwa Sigiriya Kandy  (2 day tour)

Dambulla Cave Temple (also known as the Golden Temple of Dambulla) is a world heritage site in Sri Lanka 72 km north of Kandy. It is the largest and best-preserved cave temple complex in Sri Lanka. Prehistoric Sri Lankans would have lived in these cave complexes before the arrival of Buddhism in Sri Lanka.

Polonnaruwa Sri Lankas medieval capital   was established as the city of the land in 11th century A.D. Polonnaruwa replaced Anuradhapura as the capital city of Sri Lanka   a well-preserved city of ancient dagobas moonstones beautiful parks massive buildings and stunningly beautiful statues.

Sri Lankan architectural tradition is well displayed at Sigiriya the Lion Mountain the best preserved city centre in Asia from the first millennium with its combination of buildings and gardens with their trees pathways water gardens the fusion of symmetrical and asymmetrical elements use of varying levels and of axial and radial planning.

Passing the spice gardens Pinnawela elephant orphanage Mahaweli river and the famous Peradeniya Gardens – Lord Mountbatten’s WWII headquarters – you arrive in Kandy home to the Royal Palace and the sacred Temple of the Tooth (known as the Dalada Maligawa).

Dambulla Polonnaruwa Sigiriya Kandy (2 Day excursion)

  • After having breakfast proceed to Sigiriya. Enroute visit the Dambulla Cave Temple (1B.C) in the afternoon visit Polonnaruwa. Dinner and over night stay at in Sigiriya (H/B basis)
  • After breakfast climb the Sigiriya rock fortress. There after proceed to Kandy. Enroute visit the Spice garden in Matale. Lunch break in the hotel. In the evening visit the Tooth Relic Temple and view a cultural show. (dinner and night stay at a hotel in Kandy ( on H/B basis)
  • On next day do short city tour in Kandy after the breakfast. Then visit a Gem Lapidary and Peradeniya Botanical garden. On the way back to Bentota visit Elephant Orphanage at Pinnawala and the lunch will be there.

Galle Tour

Galle (day tour)

Galle (115km/3hrs south of Colombo)

Galle known for its 17th century Dutch fort and is probably Sri Lanka’s finest colonial town. The Galle Fort is a world heritage site and the largest remaining fortress in Asia built by European invaders. Other prominent landmarks in Galle include the St. Mary’s Cathedral founded by Jesuit priests.
The old part of town easily explored on foot is famous for lace-making ebony-carving and gem-polishing. In the hills behind Galle is The Sun House a former merchant’s house and now a really beautiful small hotel. Within the fort itself try the sociable Galle Fort Hotel the peaceful Fort Printers. Galle is on the main train line from Colombo.

  • After breakfast proceed to Galle. En-route you could see is the Toddy Tapping process. (Toddy tapping Collecting Toddy Spa Etc…)
  • Travel further and visit a Turtle Hatchery in Kosgoda. About Sea turtles explanation is given by a learned person.
  • Leave from Meetiyagoda and you could see the famous Moonstone Gem – pits.
  • There after proceed to Hikkaduwa and do a Glass Bottom boat tour in the sea to see Corals and beautiful fish.
  • Leave for Gall and see the famous Dutch Fortress
  • Travel further to Unawatuna (one of the famous beaches) for sea bathing and lunch.
  • After lunch return to hotel. En-route visit a gem museum in Ambalangoda.
