Hotel Sol Y Mar Mirabel Beach Resort Sharm

Have just come back from a weeks stay at the mirabel beach, first impressions wow what a place the reception area marble floors, pillars and gorgeous chandliers, check in easy with polite staff with a welcome drink from the adjoining bar if we so required. we were handed our keys and shown to our accomodation, shortly followed by the porter with our cases, although there was just the two of us we had a family room consisting of a huge king size bed, a separate lounge area with two settees (could be converted to single beds), a good sized bathroom with walk in shower, toilet/bidet and freebee soap, shower gel, shampoo and conditioner, a lovely good sized balcony and we were lucky enough to be overlooking the pool area with lovely landscaped gardens, well maintained with pretty flowers and palm trees. The staff from the gardeners to head waiters and chefs were ever so polite and nothing was to much trouble, we enjoyed the food in the restraunts although we didn’t try the a la carte (1 free visit per stay), the complex is right on the beach with a pool bar serving cold drinks all day, sun beds and umbrellas all provided on the beach and around the pool, a ticket system for beach towels which enables you to have a clean towel every day provided you hand in your ticket and return your towels after use- great nice clean towels every day, works well.
I would say a little short on evening entertainment, but some lovely bars inside and out and lovely and comfortable, kept us going!. This was our first visit to egypt and will not be our last, and would definately go back to Mirabel Beach – A great holiday, great hotel, great staff, well done and thank you.

Stayed with husband at Mirabel Beach for two weeks. Never been to Egypt before and not sure what to expect.
Airport a bit confusing as not much direction given as to what to do once you get off bus from plane and enter the airport. Once we handed in Landing Forms, paid for Visa and handed in Swine Flu Form we were free to collect our luggage and were away on air conditioned coach to hotel. The transfer takes about 15-20 minutes.

During the holiday regularly saw planes flying over hotel but the noise was not an issue at all. It was actually really interesting to watch them as they do come over quite low.

Walked into hotel and was completely awe struck. Reception and Lobby very spacious and plush. On check in spent a couple of minutes completing forms and were then directed to our room. Luggage arrived at room 15 minutes later.
Due to lateness of arrival, small selection of food laid on for us which was a really nice touch.

Room – Excellent, pool view from balcony and could even see the beach. The room was spacious consisting of bedroom, TV and fridge (minibar – not part of all inclusive). Living room area with two sofa settee beds against each wall. Hallway with good storage facilities and safe. Bathroom really spacious with walk in shower. Really good air conditioning, which we needed as so hot! The overall decor was very good and neutral colours. Room cleaned daily and towels could be changed daily if required. Regularly received flowers in room from housekeeper and occasionally had towel decorations on the bed.

Restaurants – Two formal eating places. One was more stricter on dress code – men to wear trousers for the evening meal, the other accepted cut offs and shorts. The food was of a very good standard at breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. Always a large selection of food and different throughout the fortnight. I did hear some people say that there was nothing for them to eat! Well if you can not eat Venison, Veal, Beef, Seabass, Tiger Prawns, Calamari, Oysters, Pasta, Potatoes, Vegetables, Rice etc then maybe this is not the place for you! I will admit that food was not always piping hot but the staff were regularly replenishing the trays and I expect this when it is self service. The staff in restaurants do work very hard but on a couple of occasions were slow to deliver drinks to the table and were slow turning tables over. I believe this could be resolved by having a few extra staff in the restaurant.
We generally ate in the snack bars at Lunch time. Limited choice of food but what we had was good, Pizza, Burger, Pasta and Sandwiches.
We used our Worldwide Travel Meal Voucher to eat in the Lebanese restaurant. It was fantastic, three course meal with drinks and friendly staff.

In the evenings generally sat outside from bar area. Our waiter Ramy was excellent, very polite, efficient and took real pride in his work. 99% of the time we had drinks delivered to our table along with crisps, popcorn and nuts in the evening . The All Inclusive was local drinks but still a good selection. The entertainment was not brilliant but it sufficed.

Pools were lovely and clean and the grounds were immaculate. The drink huts by the pools were good serving hot and cold drinks. Sometimes drinks delivered to you but depended on the staffing. Sammy was fantastic. The hotel is really spacious and we had no problem securing sunbeds.
The beach was ok, very clean and not overcrowded but consists of shingle rather than sand. Not a major problem just a pain on your feet! Buy the correct footwear.

The hotel has a gym and spa but we did not use them. Gym would have been to energetic in the heat and found the spa really expenses.

Only ventured outside complex twice once to visit Nabq Bay shopping/bar area and once on a boat trip. Really recommend the snorkling. I seen some wonderful fish and coral and the water is really warm and clear.

Shopping was for me a bit of a nightmare. Good selection of shops on complex. Not really good at haggling and did feel at times pestered to enter the shops. You just have to be firm and direct which took a couple of days for me to master as at first I felt quite rude.

Overall I really enjoyed my stay here, Hotel was excellent, staff were friendly and efficient and food was of a higher standard than I expected. The grounds to the hotel are lovely and well maintained. There is not a great deal outside of the complex but a 20-25 minute walk takes you to the nearest shops/bars etc. There is a lot of building work taking place but never heard it. Nearly everyone we spoke too, including ourselves had at least one day where illness struck. Pharmacy on complex very good but prices inconsistant. Really do not think it was the food and all water is bottled and sealed. The money is a bit suspect and saw alot of people using Anti Bacterial Handwash!

There are alot of trips available but personally would go back during a cooler time of year to experience them.

We did tip certain staff but never felt that we had to. We would return to this hotel and are even considering it for next year. had a totally relaxing, chilled out holiday and met some lovely people.

Hotel Sofitel Sharm El Sheikh Holiday Reviews

Hotel Sofitel Sharm El Sheikh

Just returned from our second stay at this fantastic hotel, good food, fantastic location, pleasant and helpful staff and just the right distance from Naama Bay.
Sofitel Sharm El Sheikh has beautiful and extensive grounds with a very large pool, rooms are very clean but could do with some updating just go you will love.

We visited the Sofitel last October and have booked again for 2019.
The hotel is ideally situated on the shores of Naama Bay with private beaches, good security and beautiful grounds.
If you’re looking for a relaxing break yet still near enough to the town for shopping, night life and restaurants then the Sofitel is ideal. The hotel staff are excellent and very friendly without being ‘over the top’. The food on half board is mainly buffet style and if you are there for 2 weeks I would suggest seeing what nights you are not impressed with the food choice in week 1 and eat at either the hotel Indian or venture into town on those nights in week 2. Breakfasts were wonderful and kept you going for the rest of the day.
Would suggest you buy water bottles in the town and take them back to your room to put in the Mini bar as drinks are expensive at the hotel.
The private beaches are well looked after and the coral reefs excellent with Moray eels, parrot fish, lion fish and even a turtle. However there are some guests who don’t observe the signs to say ‘don’t stand on the coral’ and you can easily see the damage they cause. I would suggest buying a waterproof camera case and Debelius’s ‘Red Sea Reef Guide’ before going on holiday as the money spent (around 20 pounds each on E Bay) is well worth it and will help with the memories when you get back. Birdlife was also impressive with Kestrels, bee eaters, white storks and Ospreys in the hotel grounds.
Contact the hotel before you fly out and they will gladly arrange collection at the airport although it can be a squash if several people are collected at the same time. I would also suggest that you ask for a room on the 3rd or 4th level to be away from any major pool noise but also to give you a good view of Naama Bay. We were on the 5th floor and the view was slightly restricted. We never had any complaint re the noise and you can always close the windows and have the air con on should it be a problem. Beware the odd mosquito in your room.
The rooms are perfectly ok and yes the bathrooms could be better but more fool you if you want to spend that much time in your room rather than being out in the sun and sea. Rooms had daily service and a mini safe. There are a lot of stairs and I agree that if you are older or unfit ask for a room on the first floor or close to a lift (2)
The guests were mainly Italian, French and Russian with very few British – they seemed to be staying at hotels in the middle of Naama Bay.
Overall, I would recommend the hotel for its location, staff and general relaxed feel where you can do as much or as little as you want to.

Free pickup from the airport (15min journey) arranged with hotel brought us to an impressive oriental reception at the Sofitel. Quick check in and porter took us to our room. Hotel situated on cliff top giving stunning views across Naama Bay. The bedroom was very spacious and comfortable with a good sized double bed, sitting area and balcony. The position of this hotel means it gets the best views across Naama Bay, also many of the other hotels along the promenade have the main path walking between them and their beach, not so here once you are on site it is only other hotel guests who are allowed here! The hotel has numerous facilities: A massive pool (never crowded), private beaches, dive centre, pool, table tennis, jacuzzi etc is at an additional cost (7 euros/day). There is an “entertainment” programme involving dancing, aqua gym etc which is disruptive and intrusive to those wanting to relax by the pool, however it only lasts round about an hour each day. Breakfast (continental, cooked, egyptian) is served in the restaurant. There are other restaurants and bars on-site but they are very expensive and a short walk into Naama Bay centre gives you hundreds to choose from at a fraction of the price. However the buffet at the hotel is great (served outside) and the Indian gives great food and great views over the bay! There are a couple of bars including the outdoor Horizon bar which is quieter than the bar for “entertainment”. The hotel is situated about 30 mins walk along the promenade. Rated 5 star by the Egyptian Tourist Authority. A great place for some R&R after seeing the sites of Egypt. Oh and amazing snorkling from the hotels private beaches right onto a coral reef.

Hotel The Savoy Sharm El Sheikh

Came back from our week at the Savoy on 6th June and have to say we cant fault this hotel in any way…We wanted a relaxing week away before our twins are born and we got just that. We went on the s class (all inclusive) option which i think is a must because you get all your drinks for free plus the choice of 10 great places to eat…Hotel staff are very friendly and our room was large and clean…The pool area is huge so no fighting for sun loungers…If we ever go back to sharm we wouldnt dream of staying anywhere other than the Savoy.

My wife and I have returned from a week’s trip to the Savoy. I have stayed at other 5* hotels and this one definitely compares! the staff and facilities are second to none!
Anyone that complains about this hotel is a born whinger!…… I would recommend a trip – the pool, beach, bars, restaurants and snorkelling are amazing!!!
The Hot Rock restaurant and the seafood restaurant are fabulous! The staff including Ramy (Rocky Bar), Ibrahim (Safari & Seafood bar) and Mohamed (Breakfast & seafood) are excellent!!! Tip early and enjoy the rewards!!!
Book it – you won’t regret it!

We had never tried an all inclusive holiday prior to this and selected this hotel because of the number of A La Carte restaurants available with ‘S’ class all-inclusive. The staff were really friendly and attentive, with towels, toiletries chaged twice daily. The staff at the various bars were cheerful. The eating options were really good, from Italian, Middle Eastern, Steak House, Hot Rock, Ukrainian etc. The options in the in-house main restaurant were really good and the service, once again was first class. We also had a meal from room service and this was excellent. The Soho Square area outside the hotel was really good with a variety of bars and cafe’s, there was even an ice-rink!!!! We stayed for a week and as there were very few British in the hotel, The Savoy held a ‘British night’ with canapes and drinks. All drinks were available, not just Egyptian, the only exception being cognac, for which a supplement had to be paid.

Hotel The Royal Savoy Sharm El Sheikh

We stayed at this lovely hotel for a week at the begining of May. I cannot recomend the Royal Savoy enough. The service provided by the concierge staff was fantastic (nothing was too much trouble for them), great food, nice room, service around the private pool with both towels & drinks, meant we were totally spoiled for the week.

We have been lucky enough to stay at a number of top quality hotels around the world and really feel that the service from the staff here makes this one of our favourite hotels..already planning another trip back in October!

Just returned from spending 2 weeks here, the Royal Savoy hotel is lovely, the staff friendly and attentive, nothing is too much trouble. Our little girl came out in Chicken Pox on our second day and we were confined to our room for 7 days! the management were very kind, sending fruit and cookies and even placing a DVD player in the room. We had to have all our meals brought to the room which was the only bug bear as by the time it arrived it was stone cold!. However this did not spoil our holiday and the final week we were able to enjoy all the amenities freely! We would definately go back but would choose the all inclusive offer next time as the buffet at the Tirana does get a little tedious, so we found ourselves eating at the lovely restaurants at Soho Square ( The Indian was fabulous and the service great). The Italian restaurant was very good though a little expensive. We would definately return.

Hotel The Ritz-carlton, Sharm El Sheikh

We returned from a week in this lovely hotel a few days ago.
I was a little nervous having read some of the negative reviews before going, but needn’t have worried! The hotel is beautiful! A stunning lobby greets you as you walk through the entrance door, high ceilings, beautifully lit, and vast! The place is huge!
Our room was a a sea view double, and the view really was so so lovely! The room itself was immacultely clean, spotless and very spacious. Nice big bathroom with one sink, one bath, an enclosed toilet and a seperate walk-in shower. The shower itself could have been better considering the 5 star status, but it was perfectly adequate. We had 2 double beds, one firm and one soft!! We LOVED having 2 beds to stretch out in, not sure if the different mattresses were a deliberate ‘choice’ or just coincidence, but I thought it was a nice touch nonetheless. The pillows were plump and soft and when we requested more pillows they were delivered to our room immediately!
We had the buffet breakfast everyday and the choice was wonderful, so much to choose from and everything lovely and fresh. The staff almost tripping over themselves to accommodate you and make sure you are happy! So friendly!
The pools are absolutely gorgeous!! One is even heated!! Although in June this wasn’t really necessary as all the pools were lovely and warm anyway!! Very clean. Plenty of sunbeds around the pool, we had a choice of loads everyday, and there is a lovely lifeguard who also provides the towels for the sunbeds, there seems to be an unlimited supply! Service around the pool is great, they will bring you anything you ask for, drinks and food! They also came round a couple of times a day with complementary melon slices!
The hotel was very quiet whilst we were there, possibly due to the credit crunch? It was only about 40% occupied, so there was no problems with overcrowding or getting tables in the lovely restaurants.
The food is delicious! We had no tummy upsets at all, even though we went prepared with all sorts of immodium and rehydration salts!! Our tour guide advised us not to drink the tap water, so we didn’t, just sticking to bottled water, but we cleaned our teeth with the tap water and we were fine! We had ice in our drinks too which didn’t upset us at all!
We were advised too, to not buy anything in the hotel as it is very expensive, but to be honest, we’re a bit lazy and didn’t want to walk to the supermarket to buy supplies, so didn’t mind paying the extra for the convenience (we were on holiday after all!!) and actually it wasn’t that expensive! We live in London where everything costs a fortune anyway so we didn’t find that the hotel was very expensive. We had dinner in the Italian restaurant one night and the bill came to about £120 for the 2 of us, that was for 3 courses of really lovely food, and a bottle of pink champagne! We would pay that and more for the same sort of dinner in a nice restaurant in London. There was also a buffet evening meal but we didn’t try this so can’t comment but am sure it would have been lovely.
We had room service a lot (everyday!!) which we found efficient and friendly, nothing is too much trouble for the staff! We only stayed bed and breakfast and our final bill on checkout was just over £600! That is a fraction of the bills we usually rack up when on holiday!
We had a wonderful holiday at this hotel and we wouldn’t hesitate recommending it to anyone!! Actually it’s a quiet hotel, there’s a pianist and singer in the bar in the evenings, other than that there’s no nightlife, so don’t go here if you’re looking for a wild party! (exactly our kind of place!)

We just got back from a weeks stay at the Ritz. This was a last minute booking & did not have time to check prior reviews.

It was advertised as 5* but aside from the lovely Italian & Japanese restaurant, it was a low 4 at most.

Pool area – Two pools, all well maintained but the area was peeling & in need of restoration. The pool service was appaling-apparantly due to recent staff cut backs. Expect to pay £5.50 for two cokes. Daily water aerobics advertised but never happened, no music or entertainment around the pool at all.

Room – we had a standard room & it was very large with a balcony. Very average bathroom, with bath tatty and peeling & the shower was hit & miss. Free bottles of water daily but no turn down service. Our room was a good 10 minute walk to the pool & reception area, inc passing an area smelling of sewage.

Restaurants – High quality food in the Italian, Japanese & Lebonese restaurant – expect to pay around £100 for two courses with water & Egyptian wine. They are very quiet of an evening so bookings not always needed. Lunchtime food by the sea is nice, but watch how they don’t give you a full glass of wine when you order by the glass.

Recommendations – get an upgraded room near to reception, takes lot’s of cash & do a few trips to get out.
