Hotel Jaz Mirabel Club Sharm

Just returned from two weeks at the Mirabel Club and had a really good time. If you want out and out relaxtion hopping from pool, beach to bar or dinner this is a hotel and to be honest it’s hard to put it down.

The hotel is incredibly clean and well looked after, the staff literally work around the clock keeping the place up to scratch. The staff are also fantastic in their approach and professionalism. Ahmed Said at the Cactus Restaurant is world class in his approach to hospitality and I can think of many individuals around the world who could do with taking some of his work ethics!!

The food is good and a safe bet for anyone who is used to the sometimes problematic sides of eating while in Egypt, the Club is a smaller hotel and you are limited to the main restaurant and snack bar whilst their are other restaurants on the 3 hotel resort you can only use all inclusive at one of these. To be honest the food is the same but a change of scenery can sometimes be nice in which case you have 3 al a carte restaurants on site (paid options) which are very good, the Italian particularly is excellent…. have the canneloni!

The rooms are clean, well kept but basic in style but once you’re in and settled they’re a great base to work from. Ideal for a young family too as they have a partitioned area with two single beds seperate to the main room.

In terms of getting out and about, Nabq bay is a bit isolated about 25 minutes by shuttle bus into Naama bay although there is La Strada down the road which has shops, supermarket, McDonalds, Starbucks and soon to be Hard Rock Cafe. You can see that in time this will be a real up and coming resort and Naama bay won’t be used by people staying in Nabq Bay until then it’s 15 minute walk or 3 minute cab ride.

Overall I would definitley recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a safe bet, Eqypt holiday!

Just arrived home after a thoroughly relaxing holiday, I am quite a “picky” person but could find nothing to “pick” about. Staff were without exception both friendly and helpful, everywhere continually cleaned. Bottles of water free and plentiful . Lots of choice in the restaurant and creme caramel to die for ! The lack of nightlife was not a problem for us, but younger folk might find it so.

We just arrived back from the Jaz Mirabel Club on Saturday, so here are my thoughts.

My sister and I flew from Gatwick with Viking Airlines, arrived to the Hotel at about 7.30pm.

On checking in, the lobby is very nice, the staff at the check in desk were very professional and helpful, telling us all we needed to know about the resort. The resort is made up up of 3 hotels, the club, the park, and the beach. All very nice. After checking in we went straight to the restaurant for some dinner, you just help yourself, and sit wherever you like. Alcohol in the restaurant too. We thought overall the food during the holiday was very good, we didn’t have any tummy problems. We used the Cactus Restaurant for Breakfast and Dinner, and the snack bars for lunch. All very good, and quick service.

During the evening there is usually a singer in the lobby bar, which is ok, but we weren’t really there for the night life, and went for one or two drinks in the evening. Also, the service in the bar is good. The service at the pool bar was also good. The measures of spirit to mixers in drinks can be very strong, so we stuck to beer mostly.

The rooms are immaculate, very clean. Every day, the entire resort was cleaned and preened to perfection.

The only thing we found during the holiday, as 2 females alone, were that we got some unwelcomed attention from a few of the male staff. Unlike some of the other Brits in the complex, we were not there to make friends with staff, and just wanted to get our drinks without any hassle, but there were a couple of the male staff (as there are no female staff at the hotel) that would make inappropriate comments, my sister seemed to get alot of this, the comments were funny at first but towards the end of the holiday I didn’t like the undertones of these comments. I would say if you are female travellers alone, then be quite firm from the beginning of the trip and try not to get into conversation. Harsh, but it saves hassle and worrying if you can get a drink without being harranged by the staff, just for info I am 26 and my sister is 23, I don’t know if these staff would act like this with older people, or women this age who were with their boyfriends/husbands.

There seemed to be lots of kids around, not Brits, but Italians and Dutch, possibly it was half term for them. There was a kids club, that seemed to keep most of the kids quiet for the day times, although in the restaurant at night, it occassionally seemed over run with children!

We also went on a snorkel trip with Mr Diver who is on site, and this was good. The guide Redas, was very informative, and kept a close eye on us all while we went snorkelling as a group, was a good trip, even though the snorkelling was in a very choppy red sea!

A point that did let the hotel down was that there is a market place within the hotel, this is fine, but during the morning times, the hawkers from the shops (about 2-3 of them) come to the pool, trying to get you to have a haircut, or have a henna tattoo. We said no on the first day, but they still persisted on asking us every day, which got really annoying towards the end of the holiday.

Although there were a couple of points that let the hotel down, we both thoroughly enjoyed our trip to the Jaz Mirabel Club, and would definitely visit again, as we found it very relaxing and just what we were after for a week.

Just for info, you can access the internet in the lobby, they give you a laptop to use, its about £7 for half an hour. There’s a good gym there, free use of sauna/steam room/jacuzzi. Mini Bar and Room Service not included in All Inc deal. The water in the mini bar is not part of the all inc, so everyone was getting the bottles from the bar at the end of the evening to wash teeth with in the morning.

Hotel Jaz Mirabel Park Sharm

My boyfriend and I have just returned from the jaz mirabel park and were very pleased with our holiday. We booked our hotel through thomson as an all inclusive deal for 10 nights for £540. We didn’t book a package holiday as we are both airline crew and could get the flights at a cheaper rate. On arrival I was impressed with the overall appearance of the hotel it was lovely and clean. The rooms were also spotless and we had a third floor room with a huge balcony overlooking the pool. Weather was not less than 35’c the whole time we were there and we spent out time equally between the pool and
the beach a ten minute walk away. The beach was also a bit more breezy than by the poolside so was ideal in the hot weather. On arrival we were told we could not use our AI facilities at the other 2 hotels the beach and the club, however the snack bars will serve you any food and drink you ask for. I was worried about getting ill on the holiday but am glad to say this was not the case. All the food in the flooka restaurant was of a high standard, with a range of meats and side dishes every night. If you are prone to mosquito bites i would advise you take anti-histimine tablets with you. I was bitten at least 10 times on each foot and it cost me 120le in the pharmacy from the market to buy some tablets and bite cream. very expensive! The entertainment was lacking a bit in the hotel and this is the only criticism i have. The singers were awful! If you do venture out beware of the taxi drivers conning you. we paid 50le upfront for a taxi from naama bay back to the hotel. He then decided nearer our hotel we had not given him enough money and wanted to charge us more. We refused and he got a bit angry when we insisted on getting out. The hard rock cafe in naama bay was very cheap if you did want a change from the hotel food and the portions were huge.
If you want to book a diving or snorkelling trip then you can do so through Mr Diver. The reps always wander round the pool and beach during the day. We booked a snorkelling trip, visiting 3 sites and lunch included. The trip wasn’t full either with just 12 of us on the boat all day. He spoke brilliant english and showed us what all the fish were and even filmed us on the underwater video camera to show back at the end of the trip.
we also booked 2 egyptian massages through the hotel costing 600le for both. These were an hour long and well worth the money for a bit of extra relaxation.

Overall my first trip to Egypt was a good one and would definitely be back.

We went to the Red Sea for the first time to celebrate our Pearl Wedding anniversary. Having listened to freinds and family who have been to Sharm el Sheikh before we had mixed feelings before we arrived, but the first impressions of the resort were excellent and then made better as the days past. The hotel was impressively clean and the rooms were excellent. The service in all the resort was without question the best we have ever experienced. The staff were always pleasant, helpful and impeccable with everything they did. The food in the restaurants was good and there was always plenty of variety, which pleased us as we were expecting the food to be a problem. Neither of us suffered the Pharoah’s Revenge we had been told to expect.
If we had any criticism about the holiday it would be that the resort restricts the “All Inclusive” to the individual hotels, but you are free to walk around the extensive grounds, pool areas and enjoy the entertainment/activities in any hotel but you cannot get a drink unless you return to your hotel, which seems to be a strange system.
On the whole a thoroughly enjoyable two weeks and great value for money.
Oh by the way if you are going to the resort select the Mirabel Park over the Mirabel Beach, it is exactly the same but about 300 pounds a person cheaper!!!

You wont be disappointed with this Hotel in any department everyone from Management to cleaners are efficent in every way, staff both restaurant and bar and pool are there to make you feel like royalty, very friendly but not pushy.

Hotel Laguna Vista Garden Resort Sharm

Food – was an amazing standard. there was always a lot of choice. for breakfast there was – cooked full english, cereal, fruit, contientail meats and cheeses, pastries and an omlette bar. Lunch – 2/3 meat choices, rice potatoes veg, salad (with about 20 different items) fresh bread, soup. Dinner – 3/4 meat/ fish choices, rice, potatoes, veg, salad, a pasta bar, cooked whilst you wait, a stir fry bar, cooked whilst you wait., Out side of the main meal hours there were snacks available from the pool bar in the morning.
The service in the restaurant was immpeccable, the waiters would bring you drinks, remeber what day trips you had planned and make an effort to ask you about how your day was.
Rooms – so clean you could eat your dinner off the floor. They are individual huts each with massive en suite. Our bed was very firm, and massive. Cleaned everyday, including wet washing the floors throughout.
Facilities – not a lot goes on in this hotel. all the facilities are in the sister hotel Laguna Vista Beach where you have full access. We found the LVG great as it was quiet and secluded and if we wanted to do anything we went to LVB. We nearly always had the pool to ourselves at LVG and there was always room around the poolside. The LVB is only about a 2 minute walk across the road. This is a main road but the egyptian drivers always stop for pedestrians and wave you across so it is not dangerous at all.
Overall – they do not stop cleaning the hotel, ever. all inclusive is great as it includes bottled water. the staff were the most attentive I have ever come across. the food was great tasting and well presented.

1st time in Sharm. We originally thought we were booked in at the Beach resort (which is a superior resort) on paper. The garden is located across the road from the Beach and it is so much better. Its smaller, which means less quests and better service as the staff remember your face. The staff are great. Khaled works in the restaurant and is a top host! Abdul is one of the chefs and is a top bloke too. They were always smiling and going that extra mile. The hotels were always very clean and the food as okay. We had stomach problems through out the trip, but that is just the norm in Sharm I feel. The hotel is in a great location. On the left as you leave is Starbucks and on the right is Mcdonalds and KFC. The hotel is a short, fun taxi ride to Namma Bay, we only went once. Its a little to rowdy and probably good for clubbing etc. Naabq bay where the hotel is located in quieter and nicer.
You can walk to the beach from there. You have to go across the road through the other hotel, its a nice walk. Make sure you find Sherif on the beach and book an excursion for Quad or Sand Buggies. We went on the sand buggy and it was the best excursion we have ever gone on. On the beach you have to be careful of coral, you can walk in bear footed but would recommend those beach trainers. Dont walk with flip flops in the sea, just looks daft. Great hotel, great holiday would stay there again. Only little downside is the pool was cold, maybe as it was really hot outside the pool. If it bothers you just go to the sea, it was nice and warm!

The best features of this hotel are the beautiful gardens and the African hut style of the rooms, which were very nice, and well laid out. However, you are some distance from the sea, across a busy main road, and have virtually non-existant sea views. Alfresco dining is spoilt by the close proximity of the main road.
The cleanliness of the rooms was acceptable, but I have given a low score for cleanliness because I had issues with the restaurant. I did ask a waiter to change a napkin, that was used for holding bread whilst cutting, the napkin was grubby, but remained unchanged. Some of the chef’s aprons were also grubby, even first thing in a morning. Three out of the four of us had pharoahs revenge.
I am surprised at some of the high food scores given to this hotel. It ranks as one of the worst I have ever been to. Food was very limited in choice, just warm, very little of which was cooked fresh, tasteless, and sloppy in content. They possibly may bring it in from the sister hotel, which would explain the poor quality. Whilst we were there chips were served just once in the restaurant! Potatoe puree was poular with the chefs, but not amongst the guests.
The all inclusive package was not the best, and you should be wary of certain bars and drinks which are not part of the package. Wine, which was nice enough, could only be had in the restaurant for instance. The bars had no drinks or cocktails lists and on two evenings there were no lemons to add to drinks.
The staff were very good, pleasant and worked hard.
I have given this hotel a poor review partly because the previous year we stayed at the Reef Oasis Blue Bay which was excellent.

Hotel Magic Life Sharm El Sheikh Imperial

Spotlessly clean, excellent service, beautiful grounds, marvellous food. Snorkelling at Ras Mohammed some of the best in the world. We went for a restful week in the sun and achieved this spectacularly.

Everybody on the same arrangement so no discrimination between different types of guest tarriff.

In view of high taxes imported alcohol is very expensive but is available. The local alocohol which is served is not perfect but is acceptable.

Would thoroughly recommend this hotel and, something we do not usually do, may well return at some time in the future !!

This is a great hotel – don’t pay attention to the bad reviews.
We just returned on 18th May after a two week all inclusive stay. The weather was amazing (35c in the shade).
The food was of a good standard with plenty of choice for every taste. The Magico buffet restaurant is the main place to eat for breakfast, lunch and dinner (and midnight snacks). Make sure you book the Mai Tai restaurant at the beach for dinner at least once – we went twice. This beach restaurant is also open for lunch and does toasted paninis, etc. The Egyptian restaurant was also good for a change.
For waiter service for your drinks go to The Eagles Bar. We chose to sit in this relaxing area every night. There isn’t much to do at night for adults but that suited us fine. There seemed to be good activities for kids from what we saw in the noisier areas.
All of the staff at the resort can’t do enough for you. Please make sure you tip them for their trouble.
We booked a sunrise quad bike trip with Mohammed at the beach. He took us and our two friends out into the desert (just a 15 minute ride to get there!) at 5am in the morning to see the sunrise. It blew us away. He took us on this two hour tour for just $30. His English was poor but we got by and has a great laugh.
See Victor at the beach if you want a ride on his camels. Remember to offer him money if you just want to take photos.
You can walk out into the sea from the beach but you are walking on the dead coral reef so it is only knee deep. You are not allowed to walk on the live coral at the end though so you have to access the deep water via the pier. It was mostly red and white flags (never green) when we were there so swimming was at your own risk. There are life guards at the end of the piers though. You just have to walk out on the piers to see the marine life so I didnt bother to swim there and stuck with the relax pool instead.
Big tip – When you arrive read the big yellow folder in your room for all the information you need about the resort.
The sales guys from the Wellbeing Centre will pressurise you to use the facilities. I had a foot massage (ouch) and my husband and I shared a jacuzzi. We thought they might stop hassling us after that but they didnt. Note – It is female therapists who work on ladies and males for the men.
I say this because you will notice immediately the distint lack of Egyptian women! This is a muslim country where only the men go out to work. Your maid is a man, the ladies toilet attendant is a man, the waiters are all men – you get the picture.
Topless sunbathing is illegal here. If you go out the hotel grounds it is wise to cover up a bit (shoulders and legs). I took lots of linen trousers and shrugs with me for this purpose by way of respect.
The best shops are out the gates and turn right. Follow the road along until you get to McDonalds, KFC, Starbucks and the good designer shops are there with severel holiday tat shops mixed in. Shop around and always bargain! Even if you pretend to walk away you will get a better price. Visit the Monsef Labib galleries for some nice wall art to bring home.
Be prepared for the pushy sales technique as you walk along the road. Lovely people who want to chat to the Brittish but their ulterior motive always shines through.
If you visit Naama Bay be extra prepared for the vendors – we only stayed for 2 hours because we couldnt take any more!
Take as much Egyptian money as you can – it makes buying a bit easier. Bank of England (not Scotland) is also accepted, as are American Dollars but we found it easier to change to Egyptian at the bank to save on the conversion in the shops.
Warning – The Egyptian Visa you need to buy at the airport on arrival is advertised in Dollars but they only accept Egyptian or Sterling.
Last bit of advice – take plenty mosquito repellant. I have never seen so many people covered in bites. Buy a good one with deet. We had them in our room a lot but if you call reception they come within the hour and spray to kill them.
Take plenty Immodium – you will need it without a doubt. I will say no more.
This was a great and unexpected destination for us – we were meant to be going to Mexico- we were very pleasantly surprised by the charm of Egypt and are likely to return.

The Magic Life is NOT MAGIC at all, far from it!
Where do I start, well I’ve travelled all over and this place isn’t worthy of 2* never mind 5*. I spent the 1st week of my holiday on the Worldwide Travel Spirit cruising round the Red Sea now that was luxury! At the Welcome Meeting we were told by the Worldwide Travel Rep (an Egyptian man) that we couldn’t compare this hotel to the cruise liner, why not it was supposed to be 5*.

Yes the food buffets here do look good but whatever you eat PHAROAH will have his revenge. All the hot food is outside and HOT is a very loose term, lukewarm, undercooked and cold are better descriptions and because you have to walk a mile to sit down and eat it, if it started out lukewarm, it will be cold anyway! The Egyptian national treasure the fly is everywhere and birds were all around the food. They have put up a few token nets to stop the birds but the chefs do not shoo them away and the birds eat breakfast, lunch and dinner here, they are on all inclusive too!!!! We saw them everyday actually sitting in the serving dishes, they particularly liked the pasta and chips at the beach restaurant!

Joking aside, the hygiene standards at the this hotel are appalling and the notice in the reception about them having “Cristal” hygiene standards is rubbish. We saw the barman washing glasses under the tap, the chef eating chips with his fingers and then continue cooking, a chef handle raw and cooked meat without washing his hands, I asked for some cheese as it looked a little dry and the chef produced a knife from his trouser pocket and simply cut the dry bits off, LOVELY!!!

All in all, i’d say the facilities aren’t bad, the pool is huge although very cold, the room is a good size although a little tired, the power shower very good, the choice of alcohol is fine, the speciality restaurants o.k.

Now onto Pharoah’s revenge!!! Lots of people we spoke to were either ill or had been ill during their holiday and we were only here for one week. I spent 3 days of it with diarrhoea and stomach cramps, so did my son-in-law. Infact, we couldn’t take advantage of our all inclusive because we felt to sick and ill and lived on bread, chips, cereals and basics and didn’t feel like an alcoholic drink. GREAT HOLIDAY!!!! My daughter was very ill, she had dehydration and fainted by the pool and was confined to the room. Infact, on our return to the UK she spent 5 days in Hospital in the Tropical and Infectious Diseases Ward while they tried to find out what the hell had given her the diarrhoea, painful stomach cramps and fevers. They said it was viral infection caused by poor hygiene, so be warned!

So if you’re considering this hotel, i’d say don’t bother go somewhere else!!
Another tip, if i’ve not put you off still pack plenty of Imodium and Rehydration drinks, you’ll need them!!!.

Hotel Maritim Jolie Ville Resort and Casino Sharm El Sheikh

Just returned from our 4th visit to Maritim Jolie Ville Resort and Casino Sharm El Sheikh and once again had absolutely the best time, this hotel is fantastic, from the staff, to the cleanliness, to the food, everything is fab. The staff make such a fuss of you and are so friendly and welcoming, always remembering us from our previous visits, the room cleaners are again friendly and welcoming, always ready with a smile and a good morning, leaving chocolates on our pillows and leaving the rooms spotless everyday, the food again was first class. we quite simply would not stay anywhere else and we are already counting down the days to our next visit in september. jolie ville we love you!!

Loved the location it was like an oasis in the middle of Naama Bay with all the hustle and bustle on one side and a lovely promenade along the beach on the other. Something for everyone.
